Volunteer Opportunities

We are looking for volunteers for the following positions:

Bilingual Receptionist (English and Spanish):
The receptionist will be the first point of contact for our students and visitors. Responsibilities include answering calls, managing correspondence, coordinating appointments, and providing information about our programs. Excellent command of both languages and communication skills are required.

• Time Commitment: 4-hour shifts, Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm.

ESL Teacher Assistant (Bilingual, English and Spanish):
The assistant will support teachers in teaching English as a second language. Responsibilities include helping prepare teaching materials, facilitating classroom activities, and providing individual support to students. Patience and a desire to help others in their learning are valued.

• Location: 4330 Central St, Detroit, MI 48210
• Time Commitment:
  • 2-hour shifts, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm.
  • 2-hour shifts, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm.

Instructor for the Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program:
We are seeking bilingual online English teachers to instruct adults. Sessions will take place for 2 hours a week, focusing on basic education for elementary and secondary levels. Teaching experience and an approachable manner for adults looking to improve their skills are required.
